Eslam received his bachelor's degree in Nanotechnology and Nanoelectronics Engineering from Zewail City of Science and Technology (Egypt) in 2018. In 2020, he received his master's degree in Photonics from both Ghent University and VUB. The thesis was a collaboration between IMEC (Leuven) and the photonics research group at Ghent University on "Silicon Photonics Wavelength Filters for Multiplexed Ultrasound Sensor Readout".
